gym soapbox and mullet removal

I've been trying to get to the gym more lately as Ruby is nearing her 6 month birthday I feel like this belly has got to go (mine, not hers - although her chub cheeks are starting to rival her belly - LOVE IT)! But every time I go I get bugged about something...call them excuses, but it's starting to make me want to stay home, sit in a comfy chair, read a good book, and eat ice cream :)

1. What's with all the make up and cute hair at the gym...it's a gym...wipe off your fatty eye liner, put your hair in a pony and start sweating! For real...

2. Do NOT be dousing yourself in your favorite floral scent before you get on a treadmill...it's a gym people...when I'm breathing heavy (and I always am) I don't want to be taking in big inhales of lavender...seriously....

3. At the same time if you are going somewhere that you KNOW you will be sweating maybe you should bust out some deodorant...it's a gym people...it's smelly, but let's not make it worse

4. There are various forms of entertainment while workin it on the elliptical: you can listen to music, watch tv, chat with your neighbor, read a magazine - but you can't do all of them! For the love people, don't try to listen to your vulgar rap music AND hold a conversation with the person running next to you - it's a gym people - we don't all want to hear your business.

5. I also have issues with people in jeans, fans blowing on me, and the guy with the long hair who can't keep his head still and needs a sweat band....but that's enough for now...

And since I obviously have no pictures regarding the above text I will tag on this little number. I am very sad to say that we didn't get a good picture of Ruby's amazing mullet before I eliminated it (well technically it was more Preston's doing...). I just couldn't take it anymore so when we were in GR I busted out my mom's haircutting kit and started hacking away with the thinning shears - that ended up looking really really awful...so preston said, no no no you just need to use the clippers. I was terrified when he started buzzing the mullet but it turned out looking much better. NO actual pictures of either the before or after - but I do have this great video which showcases the mullet and also Ruby's newest attempts to crawl. She does this leg motion on the ground or when you are trying to hold her. I can feel how badly she wants to move around, but she's just not quite there...

totally hear ya on the baby-mullet. I always want to offer that "Erik could take care of that for ya" to people that let their babies hair go wrong.

And look, if you don't want me to go to the gym anymore, just say so. You don't have to list all my faults on your blog. ;)

BTW I am typing this while holding TWO babies...how awesome am I? haha

You shouldn't have cut her mullett. I hear that they are coming back now. I mean how could they not with Jane rockin one. I am just waiting till I can put it in a pony.
I agree on all counts with you gym complaints. Come one people if you want to pick up someone of the opposite sex go to a club not the gym. I prefer just to work out at home.
