Several months ago we decided that january would be a good time for vacation and Boston was our chosen destination! As our trip approached we kept thinking, "who would go to boston in january?!" Lucky for us the weather has been AMAZING this winter and we ended up with several days of sunshine and spring jackets. We had so much fun visiting family and eating some really amazing food.
Highlights included:
gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches from Roxy's food truck. They had some really interesting fries with rosemary and truffle oil. Super delish.

Some amazing desserts from 2 famous pastry shops - mike's and modern. We couldn't decide which to go to, so we chose both!

GIGANTICLY large and delicious french toast creations at Miss. Worcester's diner. Banana bread, strawberry cheesecake, and apple pie french toast. WOW! Ruby knows a good meal when she sees one and in this picture you can see her going for it!

In my hand is the LONG list of french toast options and behind me you can see Miss. Woo herself!Walking through Harvard yard and feeling more intellectual just being there! We also enjoyed some great eats at the Friendly Toast. They had HUGE pancakes and an incredible breakfast burrito. We also got hot chocolate in harvard square that knocked my socks off. The line was out the door but it was worth the wait! SOOOO great to see my best pal Val!

One morning we went to the church and did zumba while our kids ran around us in the gym. I think it was a little too much chaos for Ruby because she just sat there and stared at everybody for about 15 minutes. Then she had a melt down :) I also went to a book club and girls night with Melinda. The women in her Relief Society are awesome and we had a great time eating yummy food and chatting.
We also played several rousing games of Citadels! During one game people started imitating the pictures of the characters on their cards. Our favorite was "the magician." Ruby apparently wanted to join in on the fun and I must say that I think her imitation is spot on.

****Also notice the pearly white that recently popped up!****
Ruby just LOVED being around other kids! Her eyes would light up and she would squeal in the mornings when she saw her cousins. It was so fun to see them interact. We had such an awesome trip and we're so glad we were able to spend time with people we love!

We rode the "T" into the city and to the airport. I wasn't thrilled to see Ruby grip the unimaginably dirty rails and I was especially horrified when she tried to suck on it, but I have to admit she looked like a cutie doing it!
